We are looking for an experienced Temporary School Chef to join our agency team for catering assignments at schools. This is a great opportunity for chefs who thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment and are passionate about providing high-quality meals for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals in accordance with school menus and dietary requirements
- Ensure meals are prepared on time and served at the correct temperature
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and school personnel to meet the needs of the school community
- Manage kitchen supplies, including ordering ingredients and ensuring stock levels are maintained
- Follow all health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a chef, preferably in a school, college, or large-scale catering environment
- Valid Enhanced DBS check (required for working in schools)
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Passion for preparing healthy, balanced meals for young people
- Flexibility to work on a temporary basis across various schools and shifts
