We are Hiring!An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Senior Science Technician to join our thriving secondary school in Greenwich. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to support the science department in delivering high-quality education. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential for professional growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:- Leading the day-to-day running of the school's science laboratories and technical services.
- Preparing, setting up, and managing laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
- Ensuring that all experiments and practical activities meet health and safety standards.
- Managing and maintaining stock levels of chemicals, apparatus, and teaching materials.
- Supervising a team of science technicians, providing support and guidance.
- Liaising with teaching staff to support the delivery of science lessons.
- Conducting regular safety checks on equipment and maintaining accurate records of stock and safety compliance.
- Assisting in the development of new practical experiments and classroom activities.
- Ensuring the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Previous experience as a Science Technician in a school setting is essential.
- A strong understanding of health and safety protocols in a laboratory environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience working with a range of scientific equipment and resources.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- A flexible and proactive attitude towards work, with a keen eye for detail.
- A DBS certificate on the Update Service is mandatory.
