We are Hiring!An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Senior Science Technician to join our thriving secondary school in Greenwich. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to support the science department in delivering high-quality education. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential for professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading the day-to-day running of the school's science laboratories and technical services.
  • Preparing, setting up, and managing laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
  • Ensuring that all experiments and practical activities meet health and safety standards.
  • Managing and maintaining stock levels of chemicals, apparatus, and teaching materials.
  • Supervising a team of science technicians, providing support and guidance.
  • Liaising with teaching staff to support the delivery of science lessons.
  • Conducting regular safety checks on equipment and maintaining accurate records of stock and safety compliance.
  • Assisting in the development of new practical experiments and classroom activities.
  • Ensuring the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Science Technician in a school setting is essential.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety protocols in a laboratory environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with a range of scientific equipment and resources.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • A flexible and proactive attitude towards work, with a keen eye for detail.
  • A DBS certificate on the Update Service is mandatory.
