Our school, based in the heart of Tower Hamlets, is committed to delivering high-quality education that inspires and engages students. We are currently seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join our team and play a crucial role in supporting our science department.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Science Technician, you will:

  • Prepare and set up equipment, materials, and chemicals for science lessons, ensuring all resources are ready for practical experiments.
  • Maintain and organize the science laboratories, ensuring a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
  • Assist teachers during practical lessons, providing technical support and guidance to students.
  • Manage and maintain inventory, including ordering new supplies and keeping accurate records of stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Support the development of innovative and engaging science lessons by assisting with demonstrations and experiments.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working in a laboratory setting, ideally within an educational environment, is desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A good understanding of health and safety practices related to laboratory work.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for science and education, with a proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning.
  • Relevant qualifications in science or a related field are advantageous but not essential.
