Job Title: Locum Occupational Therapist - Adult Social Care (City of London)
Rate: 25.23 per hour (PAYE basic), 29.28 per hour (PAYE premium), 33.41 per hour (Umbrella)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Office Requirement: 3 days per week in the office, with flexibility for remote work on other days
About the Role:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Social Care team in the City of London. This is a full-time role with a focus on supporting adults with a range of needs through comprehensive assessments and individualized care plans. You will have the opportunity to manage your own caseload, work on varied tasks, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Caseload Management: Carry out home assessments, make recommendations, provide and order necessary equipment, and review effectiveness.
- Adaptations: Assess needs for both minor and major adaptations, including wet rooms, stairlifts, and ramps, and complete specifications and diagrams.
- Manual Handling: Conduct manual handling assessments, reviews, and specialist seating assessments.
- Reablement Support: Perform reablement assessments and support clients, making recommendations for changes to care packages and training carers on reablement tasks.
- Duty Support: Assist with ordering equipment for discharge and facilitating equipment deliveries.
- Client Support: Provide welfare contact through phone calls and home visits.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teams such as NRS, IIT, ACRT, CMHT, and community rehab teams.
- Meetings & Development: Attend two monthly meetings, one focusing on business and the other on professional development.
- Telecare & Housing: Conduct Telecare assessments and housing assessments to ensure suitable living arrangements for clients.
- Administration: Use Mosaic, Word, and Excel for documentation and reporting.
- Out-of-Borough Visits: Carry out visits outside the City of London as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualifications: Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
- Experience: Previous experience in Adult Social Care is essential, with a solid understanding of both community-based and clinical assessments.
- Skills: Strong communication, ability to work independently, and a problem-solving mindset. Proficient in using Mosaic or similar databases.
- Flexibility: Ability to balance office-based and remote working, and willingness to travel for out-of-borough visits.
