Description
The Head of Operations will oversee all warehouse operations, maximising efficiencies and improving productivity whilst maintaining a high level of operation and customer service focus at all times. Based at our clients operation in the Thames Valley, key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that all logistics activities are performed in a timely manner in accordance with customer requirements and our client's contractual obligations.
- Carrying out reviews of customer profiles to assess suitability and work with the operational team to implement change, as necessary.
- Working with customers on forecasting and growth plans so that planning can be implemented in order meet required targets.
- Assessing shift patterns, working days/hours to best fit customers volume and expected turnaround times.
- Daily analysis of labour tracking systems to ensure productivity targets are being achieved and staff are allocated on the correct accounts.
- Ensuring adequate resources are in place to cover planned activities including seasonal spikes in volume.
- Continually reviewing systems and procedures to maximise profitability and reduce costs.
- Ensuring that our client is fully compliant with all Health & Safety regulations and that appropriate training and risk assessments are completed.
- Arranging and attending regular review meetings with customers, as well as daily/weekly dialogue with high spend accounts.
- Assisting with the on-boarding of new customers and optimising warehouse layout.
- Attending senior management meetings and update the board on operational activity.
Profile
The successful Head of Operations will live within a commuting distance of our clients operation in the Thames Valley region and will be able to demonstrate the following experience:
- Previous experience of leading a large scale multi/shared-user logistics operation is essential.
- You will be hands-on and detailed in your approach and be able to demonstrate both operational and strategic delivery in previous roles.
- A strong leader, as well as a team player who can motivate and work closely with the senior management team.
- You will be credible and relationship focused in your approach, whilst demonstrating excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience of developing long-term relationships with key customers and decision makers.
- A self-driven individual with a positive outlook and clear focus on high quality and business profitability.
Job Offer
- An attractive salary package ranging from £75,000 to £90,000 per annum.
