Description
As the Interim Head of Procurement, you'll lead a small team of direct reports, driving innovation and excellence in procurement strategies across national programmes of work entailing Construction, Signalling and Digital requirements. This high-profile role is critical to achieving strategic objectives and enhancing procurement processes, particularly in large, complex projects like train control systems and locomotive fitments.
- Lead the end-to-end procurement life-cycle, ensuring compliance and best practices
- Develop and implement supplier strategies, managing a portfolio of up to £20BN over 5 years
- Foster innovation and continuous improvement within the procurement function
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive joint initiatives
Profile
A successful Interim Head of Procurement should have:
- Strong commercial acumen and leadership experience ideally within in the Rail Sector
- Comprehensive knowledge of procurement legislation and railway sector regulations
- Membership in professional institutions like CIPS or RICS is highly desirable
- NEC 3 & 4 contracts management experience
