Job Title: Project Manager - Retrofit/Decarbonisation (SHDF Delivery Framework)

Contract Length: 18 months - 2 years

Rate: £450-£500/d

Location: London (Hybrid)

Purpose:We are looking for a Project Manager to lead retrofit and decarbonisation projects as part of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF). You will drive energy-efficient upgrades, helping create sustainable, low-carbon homes that meet government decarbonisation targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage retrofit and decarbonisation projects, including the Energiesprong initiative, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Ensure projects meet sustainability and decarbonisation targets aligned with SHDF goals and net-zero 2050.
  • Oversee procurement, monitor performance, and manage relationships with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical advice on energy efficiency, low-carbon heating, and renewable solutions.
  • Ensure projects comply with environmental standards, statutory regulations, and SHDF funding milestones.
  • Track financial drawdown and ensure compliance with procurement processes.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience managing retrofit and decarbonisation projects, particularly with SHDF funding.
  • Strong knowledge of energy efficiency measures and sustainable building practices.
  • Proven project management skills with experience in delivering within budget and on time.
  • Understanding of Energiesprong, low-carbon technologies, and building regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and engage with stakeholders effectively.

Desirable:

  • Experience with heat pumps, solar PV, and other renewable technologies.
  • Familiarity with EPCs, Building Regulations, and Decent Homes Standard.
  • Knowledge of digital tools for project tracking
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in addressing resident concerns about energy efficiency works.

  • Successful delivery of decarbonisation and retrofit projects within budget and timescales.
