Your new companyHays Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Window Glazier to be based in and around the borough of Wandsworth. The role is a long-term one, and you will be working on an ongoing basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate as they will be set in a job for many years working within a great team environment.Your new roleIn this role, you will be required to:

  • Work 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day)
  • Start work at 7:30am
  • Drive and have a vehicle (ideally a van) as you will be required to drive across the borough of Wandsworth to carry out glazing works.
  • Be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing glass in various structures, including windows, doors, and facades.
  • Identify and select necessary materials for the job.
  • Measure, cut and prepare glass using appropriate tools.
  • Remove and repair/replace old broken/incomplete windows and glass on doors.
  • Seal glass by using adhesive, putty and other products.
  • Install glass, panels and other pre-assembled metal and other frameworks for doors and windows.

What you'll need to succeed

  • You do not need to have any particular qualifications. However, you will be required to demonstrate your work via references.
  • Ideally, you will have a few years' experience in the building trade.
  • Ideally, you will have experience in social housing roles as you will be coming face to face with tenants and dealing with their queries.

What you'll get in return

  • You will receive an hourly rate of £23/25 per hour (experience dependent).
  • You will receive weekly payments.
  • Guaranteed long-term work (working 40 hours per week)
  • Parking permits will be provided for the borough, allowing you to park wherever necessary when meeting clients/ tenants.
