Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to join our Facilities Management on Operations (FMO) project in Iraq. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and contributing to the effective operation of site facilities.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds in Plumbing or equivalent/higher qualifications.
  • Proven experience in plumbing pipework installation and maintenance, including hot/cold water systems and grey/black water systems.
  • Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, risk assessments, and environmental practices.
  • Experience in building systems and maintenance tasks.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in remote or challenging environments.
  • AP certifications in Confined Spaces, Compressed Gases, and/or Pressure Vessels.
  • Experience in legionella prevention and control measures.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and implement safe working systems.
  • Apply knowledge of British Standards, codes of practice, and good working practices in plumbing operations.
  • Conduct plumbing repairs within contracted timescales and oversee material requisitions.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, pre-shift briefs, and task instructions.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and statutory Legionella testing.
  • Oversee and execute repairs on plumbing equipment and systems.
  • Maintain accurate written reports on plumbing activities and updates.
