Job OverviewThe trust is seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Trauma and Orthopaedics team. The role involves providing specialist OT services to patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, and musculoskeletal injuries. The therapist will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support rehabilitation, discharge planning, and functional independence.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and treat patients with musculoskeletal conditions, post-surgical needs, and trauma-related impairments.
- Develop and implement rehabilitation programs to enhance functional independence.
- Collaborate with physiotherapists, nurses, and consultants for effective patient care.
- Conduct home assessments and recommend appropriate aids and adaptations.
- Plan and facilitate safe and timely discharges.
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to service development.
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- NHS experience in Trauma & Orthopaedics or a relevant acute setting.
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and discharge planning.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage a complex caseload independently.
