Main Duties of the Job

  • Deliver high-quality specialist clinical care with a focus on MSK and biomechanics.
  • Provide leadership and operational support, working closely with the Clinical Team Lead.
  • Educate and mentor colleagues, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Develop and implement innovative treatment plans tailored to the diverse needs of our patients.
  • Act as the main point of contact for MSK interventions, ensuring best practices and evidence-based care are at the forefront.

Detailed Responsibilities

As the Specialist Podiatrist in MSK Biomechanics, you will:

  • Be the clinical expert in your field, leading on biomechanics and MSK interventions within the team.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, sharing your expertise and helping develop their clinical skills.
  • Work autonomously to assess, diagnose, and create bespoke treatment plans for a range of patients, including those in high-risk categories.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless, patient-focused care.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Essential Criteria:

  • HCPC registration as an Allied Health Professional (AHP).
  • Degree in Podiatric Medicine with certification in local anaesthesia.
  • Postgraduate development in Biomechanics/MSK (e.g., certificates, diplomas).
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to inspire and guide your team.
  • A proactive and team-oriented mindset, ready to contribute to service improvement.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Advanced IT and presentation skills.
  • Experience delivering health promotion and patient education.

Experience Needed

Essential:

  • Proven experience at Band 6 level or higher in MSK, working with high-risk, neurology, rheumatology, or orthopaedic caseloads.
  • Demonstrated success in multidisciplinary teamwork and service development.

Desirable:

  • Clinical supervision and mentoring experience within the NHS.
