Join Our Team as a Compliance Officer

Are you organised, detail-oriented, and experienced in housing compliance? Our Client is looking for a Compliance Officer to support our property team in delivering an effective programme of compliance checks across our portfolio of around 300 properties.

About Us

RMHS exists to assist retired and retiring ministers with their housing needs during retirement, ensuring they have suitable long-term accommodation. We're a registered Community Benefit Society, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, committed to maintaining high standards and providing a safe and comfortable environment for our residents.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and monitor scheduled compliance inspections (gas, electrical, asbestos, fire safety, and legionella).
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping on internal databases (Homemaster and SharePoint).
  • Review compliance documentation, identify necessary remedial works, and arrange for their completion.
  • Manage tenders for works, liaising with contractors and preparing cost comparisons.
  • Work with the Repairs and Maintenance Coordinator to plan boiler and fire detection system renewals.
  • Ensure compliance with current legislation and health & safety standards.
  • Provide technical assistance to colleagues and contractors.
  • Monitor contractor registration and ensure adherence to RMHS code of conduct.
  • Collate compliance data for monthly reports and board meetings.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in housing sector compliance, including gas, electrical, asbestos, fire safety, and legionella checks.
  • Strong knowledge of landlord compliance legislation and best practices.
  • Proficient in MS365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access).
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems calmly and effectively.
  • A team player with a positive and professional approach.
