About Us

At Watkin Jones Group, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality developments that stand the test of time. Our Investment, Development, and Planning (IDP) team plays a crucial role in driving our Group Strategy forward, identifying and transforming development opportunities into successful, deliverable projects.

The Role

As a Development Manager you'll be a key player within our dynamic Acquisition Hubs. These hubs are the heart of our development function, bringing together a blend of skills in acquisitions, planning, and technical expertise to secure planning permission and drive our projects to success.

In this role, you'll support the Acquisition and Development Leads throughout the appraisal acquisition process, providing crucial Due Diligence Reports that cover planning, design, cost, program, and technical aspects. You'll manage secured development opportunities under the guidance of Development Leads, ensuring that key risks are identified and addressed with effective risk responses. Additionally, you'll assist in reporting for projects during the planning and design stages, helping to secure smooth approvals from the Investment Committee. Collaboration is key, as you'll work closely with Hub colleagues and internal teams to share knowledge, best practices, and ensure project alignment.

What We’re Looking For:

We're seeking someone with a strong technical understanding of residential planning, design, and development processes. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to negotiate, influence decisions, and support investment appraisals with sound business acumen. A proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous learning are crucial, along with the ability to thrive in a high-performing, autonomous team environment.
