Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and driven individual to assume the role of Head of Technical at NASC. As the Head of Technical, you will play a vital role in leading and coordinating the technical and safety functions within NASC’s membership, with a strong focus on digitisation of that and other technical content. Your expertise will contribute to the ongoing enhancement of industry standards, knowledge sharing, and the continuous development of our members and their staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and line management to the Technical and Safety departments especially helping the highly experienced subject matter experts to achieve the business plan, operational plan, and budget with NASC’s objectives and values.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of technical and safety standards, guidelines, and best practices for the access and scaffolding industry.
- Collaborate with industry stakeholders, government bodies, and regulatory agencies to influence policy decisions and advocate for industry-wide improvements.
- Lead the creation of content and support the delivery of content programs, seminars, and workshops to enhance the technical skills and safety awareness of NASC members through NASC and CISRS communication routes.
- Drive the research and development of innovative solutions through technologies in the access and scaffolding sector, staying ahead of industry trends and advancements, developing plans inputting into the NASC / CISRS business plans and ensuring a strong digital solution for the sector for technical, safety and the broader NASC technical content this includes training and education with close collaboration with the head of training and education.
- Manage and allocate resources effectively to support the successful execution of technical and safety projects, initiatives, and programs in line with the strategic objectives, business plan, operational plan and budget.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing among NASC members, CISRS Centres, enabling them to stay current with the latest industry developments.
- Participate in relevant industry conferences, committees, and forums to represent NASC and where appropriate CISRS contribute to the advancement of the access and scaffolding industry.
Key Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and Experience:
- Ideally bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field (digital, IT, engineering, construction, etc.).
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in the trade body or professional management, with a high level of project management delivery on time and on budget, with a proven track record of technical leadership and innovation.
- Strong understanding of the need to understand and gain knowledge in industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices. Being able to access a team of subject experts and ensure they are equipped to respond to detailed technical questions or projects.
- Previous experience in line management and team leadership, demonstrating the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
