  • As a Mortgage Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance across a range of mortgage cases, with a strong emphasis on second charge mortgages. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct audits and assessments to ensure adherence to legal requirements and internal policies.

Mortgage Compliance Officer Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed audits of mortgage files, loan documents, and processes to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Keep up to date with changes in mortgage laws and regulations, ensuring management and staff are informed of relevant updates.
  • Work closely with teams across the business to address compliance issues and implement necessary changes.
  • Provide guidance and training on compliance policies and procedures, fostering awareness and understanding.
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to management and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, audit findings, and remediation actions.

The Mortgage Compliance Officer Package

  • Hours: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
  • Basic Salary up to £50k
  • Hybrid working 2 days from home
  • Holidays: 25 Days per Year

Skills and Experience Required

Essential

  • Previous compliance experience within financial services, specifically in residential mortgage compliance.
  • Good understanding of the FCA’s regulatory approach and framework.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and objection-handling skills.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and time management.
  • Positive attitude towards challenges and adaptability to change.
