About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Planning Manager to play a pivotal role in the accurate and timely provision of student number data across the university. This role is central to supporting academic and operational planning functions, enabling data-driven decision-making throughout the full student life cycle, from applications to enrolment and beyond.

Higher Education experience is Mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Lead and manage the delivery of student number data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness to support internal functions such as Academic Workload Planning and contribute to institutional success.
  • System Development and Management: Oversee and enhance systems used for modelling and visualising student number data. Ensure these systems provide first-class support, are user-centred, and facilitate insightful and continually improved reporting.
  • Expert Advice on Student Number Planning: Act as an expert in student number planning, offering guidance on new academic program development and modifications. Work closely with colleagues managing statutory returns and student records.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage extensively across the institution, understanding the priorities of various departments in relation to student data and reporting, and acting as a key point of contact.
  • Community Leadership: Lead and support communities of practice, including data champions and statutory returns networks, to foster a culture of data excellence and enhance data analysis capabilities.

About You

With a passion for data and a proven track record in operational data management, ideally in a higher education environment, you're a strong communicator and natural leader. You can balance strategic insight with hands-on system development. Experience with student data, academic planning, or similar functions is beneficial.
