Job Title: Policy Manager (for strategic goals: prevention and diagnosis, treatment and care, living well)Location: London (2 days per week)Salary: Up to £42,000 per annumReports to: Senior Policy ManagerRole Overview:We are looking for a Policy Manager to lead and manage policy development in one of our strategic goal areas (prevention, treatment, or living well). This role will focus on driving change for individuals with long-term conditions across the UK, developing policy solutions based on research and stakeholder input.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and commission research to identify policy issues and develop evidence-based solutions.
  • Manage policy projects, including producing reports, briefings, and consultation responses.
  • Organise events and consultations to gather stakeholder views and ensure they are reflected in policy priorities.
  • Collaborate with health and care professionals to inform policy development.
  • Monitor and track the policy environment, providing regular updates to the team.
  • Contribute to media and communications strategies to raise awareness and drive change.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including policymakers, health care professionals, and organisations.
  • Represent the organisation at external policy groups and forums.
  • Provide policy support across the organisation, including senior leadership teams and cross-organisational working groups.
  • Line manage at least one policy officer, providing guidance and professional development.

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Experience in policy development and influencing, particularly in health and social care.
  • Strong understanding of policy issues related to long-term conditions or disabilities.
  • Proven ability to build productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong analytical and attention-to-detail abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently to deadlines.
  • Commitment to making a positive impact in the health and care sector.

Desirable Experience:

  • Project management and line management experience.
  • Experience working with people with long-term conditions or a solid understanding of related health conditions.
