Role: Portfolio Delivery LeadSalary: up to £100,000Location: City of London 2 days per week Our client is looking for a Portfolio Delivery Lead to lead the planning and prioritisation of the complete portfolio of Customer change and transformation business outcomes. The portfolio will include all categories of change, from small continuous improvement activity through to large transformational cross function programmes. The ideal candidate for the role is a strategic, hands-on leader experienced in solving business problems, driving transformation, and delivering customer-focused solutions. They should be adept at aligning business needs with delivery capabilities, especially in agile, cross-functional environments. This role requires a strong operational focus on improving delivery performance and efficiency while adhering to standards set by the Change Management Office and aligning with enterprise governance frameworks. A key part of the role involves working closely with the CMO to improve the maturity of change delivery across the portfolio.Experience and knowledge: Portfolio and Project Management Delivery Expertise:

  • Proven experience of managing portfolios of projects/initiatives and large-scale programmes solving business problems by aligning initiatives with customer strategies
  • Deep understanding of agile, waterfall methodologies essential. An understanding of lean portfolio management and scaled agile frameworks.
  • Expertise in improving the performance, efficiency, and maturity of delivery across multiple teams and initiatives.

Strategic Thinking and Problem Solving:

  • Ability to diagnose business challenges and deliver solutions through targeted initiatives.
  • Focuses on balancing operational delivery with strategic objectives.

Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Strong track record of leading teams of Project Managers and Business Analysts, fostering a problem-solving culture.
  • Focused on continuous improvement, embedding a culture that enhances delivery performance.

Governance and Risk Management:

  • Extensive experience of establishing programme / project governance and risk management.
  • Skilled in working with governance boards to align portfolios, secure resources, and improve delivery efficiency.

Customer-Centric Focus:

  • Experience managing customer-facing transformation portfolios, translating customer and business needs into actionable solutions for agile teams.
  • Understands key drivers of success and technology to address customer problems.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, influencing senior leadership and aligning agile teams with customer roadmaps.
  • Focuses on effective communication to ensure that teams understand project goals and business challenges while adhering to PMO standards for performance and delivery.

Additional experience needed:

  • Must have previous experience of overseeing a portfolio not just managing multiple programmes/projects
  • Experience in quarterly planning and roadmaps - planning &?dependency management at portfolio level ?
  • Facilitates prioritisation and scheduling resources and projects /?change?
  • Key role in strengthening change delivery capability (waterfall and?agile)- delivery of outcomes and metrics for improvement
