An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Private Label/NPD - Project Planning Manager within a fast-paced and innovative food business. This role is pivotal in the planning and development of private label projects and new product development (NPD).

The successful candidate will oversee the planning and execution of projects, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery.Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of Project Planning: Manage the private label and NPD project planning process, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Technical, Marketing, and Purchasing teams to deliver projects on time and in line with key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Project and Process Management: Use strong organisational skills to guide projects from concept to launch. Provide clear timelines, documentation, and updates, proactively addressing any potential delays or issues.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain excellent relationships internally and with global suppliers across Thailand, India, China, and Europe. Facilitate clear communication of project progress and milestones through regular updates.
  • Product Development Expertise: Ensure end-to-end project management for food innovation, from recipe development to market launch. Provide detailed product briefs and clear instructions to suppliers.
  • Process Optimisation: Optimise workflows and ensure alignment with strategic goals. Address complexity by implementing solutions for process improvement.
  • Regulatory and Packaging Oversight: Ensure all projects meet customer requirements and adhere to regulatory standards. Collaborate with internal teams to finalise artwork and packaging content, ensuring accurate product representation.

Candidate Profile:The ideal candidate will be a proactive and highly organised professional with a background in food industry project / specification management.Skills and Attributes:

  • Exceptional planning, project management, and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster strong relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot issues and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while adhering to strict timelines.
  • Passion for food product development and innovation.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in project management, possibly from a specification background, within the food industry.
  • Knowledge of private label product development, food safety regulations, and labelling standards.
  • Familiarity with retailer processes and system requirements.

Based in NW London, with regular UK travel to customer sites and occasional international travel to supplier locations.Flexibility for hybrid working, with one day per week remote work depending on business needs.This offers a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to make a tangible impact in the world of food innovation and product development!!
