Your new companyJoin a dynamic team as a Compliance and Financial Crime Risk Specialist, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the bank meets regulatory expectations. You will work closely with the Head of Central Compliance to execute comprehensive risk assessments and second-line testing and assurance activities. Your new role

  • Risk Assessment: Lead the annual Business-wide Financial Crime and Compliance and Conduct Risk Assessments.
  • Programme Design: Contribute to the design of the Compliance Monitoring and Assurance Programme (CMAP), leveraging market intelligence to implement best practices and relevant controls.
  • Programme Execution: Participate in the CMAP, conducting risk assurance testing on various files and transactions, monitoring staff compliance, and overseeing branch communications.
  • Collaboration: Build strong relationships with the first line to ensure timely communication and remediation of CMAP findings.
  • Suspicious Activity Reporting: Identify and escalate potential suspicious activities to the MLRO or DMLRO.
  • Management Information: Produce insightful Management Information (MI) from Risk Assessment and CMAP activities.
  • Operational Risk: Engage in the Operational Risk RCSA process and report Compliance Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
  • Project Support: Assist in Compliance and Financial Crime risk management activities and projects.
  • System Enhancements: Support the implementation of enhancements to Compliance and Financial Crime systems and controls.

Core Compliance Responsibility:

  • Provide policy, tools, techniques, and support to manage conduct and compliance risk in the first line.
  • Conduct monitoring and reporting to assess the effectiveness of first-line controls.
  • Ensure policies and processes meet legal and regulatory requirements, and collaborate with the first line to implement improvements.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher; recognised industry qualification is desirable.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a quality assurance testing function within a wholesale banking environment.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of FCA & PRA Rules, AML regulations, and Wolfsberg Anti-Money Laundering Principles.
  • Client Handling: Experience dealing with high-risk clients and related risk factors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in payment screening and transaction monitoring systems.
  • Communication: Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Language: Mandarin language skills are a plus.
