Adecco are recruiting TWO Senior Planners on behalf of our Public Sector client.
- Senior Planner
- Public Sector - Local Authority based in Wandsworth
- Temporary Role - 3 months with likely extension
- Full Time - Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
- £22.70 per hour PAYE / £29.67 per hour Umbrella
- Hybrid Working Arrangement
- IT equipment provided
- ASAP start
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a diverse caseload of complex and high-profile planning applications, ensuring timely and transparent decision-making.
- Prepare well-reasoned officer reports based on relevant planning policies and material considerations.
- Coach and supervise junior planning officers, fostering their skills and knowledge to enhance service delivery.
- Identify and propose improvements and creative solutions to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
- Present recommendations at Committee meetings and public forums, providing expert advice to Members and the community.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and industry best practises, and ensure compliance with data protection and health and safety regulations.
What We Are Looking For:
- A degree in planning or a relevant professional qualification, with membership of the RTPI or eligibility for full membership.
- Comprehensive knowledge of planning legislation, policy guidance, and effective customer relations practises.
- Proven experience in local government policy work, including the preparation of development plan documents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and planning database systems, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and deliver complex planning applications within set timeframes.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to service delivery improvements.
