We have a very exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Product Technologist / Regulatory Compliance Officer who is looking for an adventure!
You will be based in our clients’ Chinese factory for 6 months where you will help shape and formalise the Regulatory Compliance function at the factory. You will establish processes and ways of working, setting up a seamless link between the China factory and their London HQ. The successful candidate will have a background working closely with China factories, be process driven, a first class relationship builder, have a strong understanding of global market registration.

Responsibilities in this Compliance Officer include:
- Develop and implement the Regulatory Compliance, testing and QA strategy at the China factory
- Establish robust testing procedures to ensure all products are compliant to current standards and any risks are mitigated
- Work closely and collaboratively with the Head of Compliance in the London office to establish a seamless flow of information with the London office and China factory
- Establish processes and ways of working at factory level from a QA and Compliance perspective to ensure all technical data, testing, and documentation are complete and compliant prior to product shipments
- Establish processes to identify and resolve any compliance-related issues swiftly, ensuring key stakeholders are informed of any potential risks
- Deliver training to the China QC team, sharing best practices, and ensuring up-to-date knowledge of all relevant regulations and industry standards to ensure the company’s compliance with global market requirements
- Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships between the London and China teams to support seamless and productive working partnerships
Key Requirements:
- Excellent regulatory compliance experience within the consumer products industry
- Solid experience visiting factories based in China or working out in the Far East
- Thorough understanding of factory auditing and familiarity with MSDS processes
- Experience working with key account retailers / FMCGs
- A self-starter who can work independently, take initiative, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the compliance function
- Experience with factory auditing and working directly with testing houses
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external teams at all levels
- Process driven, a methodical approach, and a proactive problem solver
- A team player with a collaborative approach, ready to support, train, and develop the China team
