Are you experienced in International Partnerships Development within higher education with an understanding of the full student life-cycle and Quality Assurance process?

A University in London are seeking to appoint a Strategic Academic Partnerships Manager to manage both their UK and International partnerships. You will manage 3 main partnership accounts whilst also supporting two Partnership Accounts Managers who manager their own smaller accounts.

The role is mostly remote, but you will need to attend their London office every fortnight for team meetings, with flexibility to work on-site more often if partners are visiting, or for any required business needs.

This is a crucial role in the management of the university academic partnership experience, streamlining administrative functions through a central Registry unit and the Quality Assurance & Enhancement Unit supporting the schools and colleagues in delivering an outstanding partnerships experience.

Key duties will include:

  • Manage strategic academic partnerships to achieve income targets and long-term sustainability.
  • Develop and execute growth plans to enhance partner profitability and student numbers.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of key academic partnerships.
  • Lead and develop the Account Management team to deliver exceptional service to partners.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure high-quality student experiences for partner programs.
  • Establish and monitor service level agreements with schools and professional services.
  • Optimise processes for effective service delivery and partnership operations.
  • Monitor partner KPIs, address underperformance, and manage associated risks.
  • Maintain risk registers and implement action plans to ensure partnership quality.
  • Lead annual reviews of academic partnerships and report opportunities and risks.
  • Oversee invoicing, income management, and reporting in collaboration with Finance.
  • Stay updated on sector changes and regulatory requirements (QAA, OfS, etc.).

*Please be aware that there is currently no international travel with this role, but there could be scope for travel in the future.

Essential experience required:

  • Knowledge of the UK and international Higher Education sector
  • Significant experience of managing academic partnerships within the UK higher education sector
  • A clear understanding of the UK and international higher education sector and the role played by academic partnerships to deliver the university strategic vision
  • Understanding of UK Higher Education quality assurance/enhancement processes, admissions, finance, registry and relevant university functions in regard to academic partnerships portfolio management
  • Demonstrable experience of developing, implementing and monitoring effective process to ensure oversight of academic standards and the student experience at academic partners.
  • Experience of working with external stakeholders and/or students in a multicultural or international environment
