A dynamic, market leading Main Contractor in Clapham is seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to enhance their thriving team.

The Technical Services Manager Role

The incoming Technical Services Manager will be working closely alongside the firms dynamic Quantity Surveying team working on exciting, complex Luxury Residential, Retail, Commercial and Education across London.

As the Technical Services Manager, you will have the responsibility of checking the end-to-end delivery of either the Mechanical or Electrical items within the different projects.

This role would suit a commercially minded Technical Services Manager eager to work on some of London's most prestigious, high-end projects within an incredibly dynamic, energetic and sociable team.

The duties include:

  • Liaise with sub-contractor M&E specialists and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Arrange work and labour for various project elements.
  • Complete tender return comparisons and attend tender interviews with clients.
  • Coordinate M&E works with site managers.
  • Check and request Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Method Statements (MS).
  • Keep subcontractors updated.
  • Manage and review the working drawings process.
  • Communicate with the client consulting team regarding project commencement.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Information (RFIs) using the RFI template.
  • Manage submittals.
  • Attend pre-start meetings with Quantity Surveyors.
  • Request attendance and issue site instructions.
  • Organize handover meetings.
  • Provide monthly progress meetings and trackers.
  • Manage the commissioning programming process.
  • Provide weekly site team updates.
  • Manage technical information for O&M manuals and Building User Guides.
  • Travel to various sites across the UK.

The Technical Services Manager

The successful Technical Services Manager must have:

  • Previous experience in a technical or managerial role with a contractor.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of M&E materials.
  • Willingness to travel to construction sites.
  • Experience in liaising with subcontractors and site managers.
  • ONC/HNC or equivalent qualifications.
  • Proficiency in IT and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
