We are partnering with a prestigious client specializing in bespoke packaging artwork, printing, and mock-ups for the advertising, design, and packaging industries.

This company has built a reputation for producing exceptionally high-quality products through bespoke litho proofing techniques.
Their cutting-edge studio features specialist areas dedicated to offset litho printing, silkscreen printing, hot and cold foiling, embossing, debossing, hand finishing, die cutting, varnishing, and specialist ink applications—all of which contribute to creating truly unique end products for their clients.

The Role

Joining the production team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of the printing and finishing departments. Your work will involve preparing tools, plates, and production details to keep workflows running efficiently. This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented role, ideal for someone eager to enhance on their current understanding of traditional printing techniques, and build expertise in a niche area of the print industry.

This is not a pure design role—you’ll be working with client-supplied designs and ensuring they are print-ready.

You’ll also need to be flexible, as the business operates between 7 am and 7 pm, and there may be occasional requirements for early starts or late finishes to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and amending client-supplied artwork using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, liaising directly with clients to ensure the designs are optimized for printing.
  • Ensuring artwork is error-free and print-ready.
  • Collaborating with the finishing team and external suppliers to order embossing, debossing, foiling, and cutting dies, as well as more complex multi-level tooling.
  • Preparing CTP plates and conducting regular maintenance on the CTP machine and processor (training provided).
  • Operating digital printers and cutting machinery (training provided).

The Person

To excel in this role, you should bring a strong understanding of litho printing and pre-press processes.

  • Previous experience in a pre-press role (e.g., Mac operator, production artworker, plate maker).
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and InDesign).
  • Professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and assist other areas of the business when needed.
  • Knowledge of litho, silkscreen, and digital printing processes is highly advantageous.
