We are seeking a qualified Primary School Teacher for a Year 2 class to cover maternity leave from 3rd February 2025 until the end of the school year on 18th July 2025. The successful candidate will be required to start a few days earlier for a handover process.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare and deliver engaging and educational lessons tailored to Year 2 students.
  • Manage classroom activities and ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Assess and monitor student progress and provide feedback to promote development and learning.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to enhance teaching practices and learning experiences.
  • Participate in school events and activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
  • Experience teaching at the primary level, specifically with Year 2.
  • Strong understanding of the current curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire young learners.
  • Not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs); experience within the main scale points 3-6 is necessary.
Interview Process:
  • Interviews will be held on 8th January.
  • Candidates will meet with the Head Teacher and Assistant Head Teacher.
  • Prepare and deliver a 30-minute writing task for Year 2, which will be observed as part of the selection process.
