We are looking for a qualified Primary School Teacher to cover a Year 2 class for maternity leave from February 3, 2025, to July 18, 2025.
The annual salary for this position is based on Main Scale Points 3-6.
Candidates must have experience teaching at the primary level, specifically with Year 2, and not be Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
Applicants should have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong understanding of the current curriculum and teaching methods.
Interviews will take place on January 8, and candidates will be required to complete a 30-minute writing task for Year 2 during the selection process.

Year 2 Teacher (Maternity Cover)

We are seeking a qualified Primary School Teacher for a Year 2 class to cover maternity leave from 3rd February 2025 until the end of the school year on 18th July 2025. The successful candidate will be required to start a few days earlier for a handover process.

Day-to-day of the role:

Prepare and deliver engaging and educational lessons tailored to Year 2 students.
Manage classroom activities and ensure a positive learning environment.
Assess and monitor student progress and provide feedback to promote development and learning.
Collaborate with other teaching staff to enhance teaching practices and learning experiences.
Participate in school events and activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
Experience teaching at the primary level, specifically with Year 2.
Strong understanding of the current curriculum and teaching methods.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to engage and inspire young learners.
Not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs); experience within the main scale points 3-6 is necessary.

Interview Process:

Interviews will be held on 8th January.
Candidates will meet with the Head Teacher and Assistant Head Teacher.
Prepare and deliver a 30-minute writing task for Year 2, which will be observed as part of the selection process.
