As a 1-2-1 primary teaching assistant, your main role is to support the learning and development of a specific student within a classroom setting. This student may have special educational needs or require additional support to meet their learning goals.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Working closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver appropriate learning activities and interventions for the student.
  • Providing one-to-one support to the student during lessons, helping them to understand concepts and complete tasks.
  • Monitoring and recording the student's progress and reporting back to the teacher
  • Adapting resources and materials to meet the student's individual needs
  • Supporting the student with their social and emotional development
