One of our popular partner schools in Croydon is offering an exciting opportunity for an aspiring Primary Teacher to join their team and gain invaluable hands-on experience as a Teaching Assistant.

Starting immediately and running until at least the end of the academic year in July 2025, this role will immerse you in Primary school life and see you working closely with a supportive team of teachers and support staff to develop your teaching skills.

[Opportunities to progress on to Initial Teacher Training are available from September 2025]. 

What you will do as a Primary Teaching Assistant:
  • Support students in the classroom, providing 1:1 or small group interventions to boost understanding and confidence.
  • Help manage behaviour in line with school policies, supporting a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the Class Teacher to design lessons and create engaging resources.
  • Observe and participate in lessons to understand the day-to-day realities of being a teacher.
  • Participate in relevant meetings and training sessions as required.
What we are looking for in a Primary Teaching Assistant:
  • An enthusiastic and confident graduate with a strong academic background including a minimum of a 2:1 degree and strong grades at GCSE and A-Level.
  • A passion for education and a desire to inspire the next generation.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, organised and enthusiastic approach to supporting learners.
  • Previous experience working with 4-11 year old age range
