About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will have the rewarding opportunity to work both inside and outside of the classroom, supporting students in a Year 4 and 5 class. This is a split role where you will:

  • Provide one-on-one support to a student with autism, helping them navigate their educational journey and reach their developmental goals.
  • Support a small group of boys with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them build resilience, confidence, and academic progress.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and SENDCo, who will provide comprehensive support throughout your role.
  • Work in a structured environment with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) in place for all students, ensuring you have guidance and strategies to effectively support their needs.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: Prior experience working with children, especially those with autism or SEMH needs, is beneficial but not required.
  • Passion: A genuine commitment to helping children overcome challenges and succeed in their learning journey.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work both in the classroom and outdoors, as required by the role.
  • Compliance: Must have, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced Child-Only DBS check.
  • Location: Ideally, candidates will reside in or near Hackney, or have reliable transportation to commute to the area.
