About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will support children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs who are unable to attend mainstream school or have been permanently excluded. You will work with vulnerable children, helping them manage challenging behaviours and access a positive educational experience. Your role will be key in helping these students make progress socially, emotionally, and academically, preparing them for their next steps in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Assist in managing challenging behaviours and promoting positive learning experiences
  • Work alongside teachers to deliver tailored interventions and learning plans
  • Support students in their social and emotional development, helping them build resilience
  • Promote a safe and inclusive environment, ensuring students feel supported and valued
  • Help facilitate transitions to other educational settings, ensuring stability and continuity for students
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning activities

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH)
  • A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting vulnerable children
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage behaviour in a positive and constructive way
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in supporting students with challenging behaviour are desirable
  • A passion for making a difference in the lives of children who have experienced challenges in their educational journey
