Are you experienced in British Sign Language (BSL) and passionate about supporting children with additional needs?Tradewind is seeking a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a non-verbal KS1 pupil who communicates using British Sign Language (BSL).

Role Highlights:

  • Work on a 1:1 basis with a KS1 child with ASD who is non-verbal and uses BSL to communicate.

  • Support the child's academic, social, and emotional development within the classroom setting.

  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and speech & language specialists to ensure consistent support.

  • Contribute to the child's progress through observations, communication logs, and feedback.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • BSL qualification (minimum Level 1 or above) or demonstrable experience using BSL in an educational setting.

  • Previous experience supporting children with Autism and communication needs.

  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to working with young children.

  • A genuine passion for inclusion and making a difference.
