 A highly-respected specialist school, based within the area of Brent and borough of Edgeware, are looking for an Teaching Assistant to join their staff on a full-time basis.

the Role

The role would require you to be confident in supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and be able to set as well as maintain boundaries.  The School have a Primary and Secondary site however, this position is based in their Secondary site. In this role you will be supporting various pupils across the school on both a 1 to 1 and small group basis. You will work closely with the teaching and wider staff team to provide support for the students within classes, school activities and specialist and intervention sessions. Some of the pupils come from vulnerable backgrounds and have social, emotional and mental health needs. 

You would be required to support pupils academically in subjects such as English, Maths and  Science

The School

The School provides education for up to 82 students aged 5-16 who have either been permanently excluded from mainstream school or are on a placement. They are taught in groups no more than 7. Many of the pupils arrive at the School with an educational history of disrupted by many fixed term exclusions, permanent exclusion and possible several changes of school. 

They operate on two main sites with Primary and Secondary as well as an additional site for vocational and vocational provision.
