About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful team of daily supply staff for a range of primary schools in the Merton (SW19) area.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in various educational settings and make a positive impact on students' learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering high-quality education and support to primary school students.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
- Help prepare and organize classroom materials and resources.
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students during school hours.
- Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Assist with classroom management and maintaining a tidy and organised learning environment.
- Carry out administrative tasks as required by the classroom teacher or school management.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with primary school children is preferred.
- A genuine passion for education and helping students achieve their full potential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and teaching styles.
- A patient and empathetic approach to supporting children's learning and development.
- Basic understanding of child safeguarding and welfare.
- Flexibility and reliability to work on short notice.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare are an advantage.
