Your new roleAs a Senior Costs Advisor, you will report to the Head of Insurance Business Services and be directly managed by one of the Costs Operations Managers.You will handle your own caseload, primarily consisting of Defendant files, ensuring they meet high standards and comply with client service level agreements. You will interact with both internal and external clients, as well as colleagues at all levels within the firm. Additionally, you may need to support junior team members with fee-earning queries or supervision. Your file management will be overseen according to the firm's Costs supervision policy, and you must ensure that all management information is accurate and aligns with client SLAs. This hybrid role allows for flexibility, with the successful candidate able to work from any of our offices based in England.What you'll need to succeedExperience in costs within the insurance sector, covering areas such as Road Traffic Accidents, Employment and Public Liability, Industrial Disease, and Clinical Medical Negligence. Detailed working knowledge of the Fixed Recoverable Costs regime and have advocacy experience, including attending interim applications, cost case management hearings, and detailed assessment hearings.The ideal candidate will be skilled in negotiating high-value and complex matters and have a strong background in costs case management, including the preparation of cost budgets and budget discussion reports. I have managed a caseload of both defendant and claimant costs files and have excellent negotiation skills. Additionally, I have experience drafting bills of costs, points of dispute, and draft schedules.What you'll get in return
