Process Mapping Specialist (Global Commodities Trading & Shipping)

Certain Advantage are recruiting on behalf of a Global Commodities Trading client in London for a Process Mapping Specialist. This is a contract role for 12months working inside IR35 working in Central London 2-3 days per week.

As a Process Mapping Specialist you will play an important role in identifying, documenting, and streamlining key business processes across the trading business.

You will focus on mapping current-state processes, identifying inefficiencies, and creating a foundation for the transformation toward a fully integrated, efficient, and standardized operational model.

This role is essential in driving the process standardization and automation, ensuring alignment between business functions, IT systems, and data management across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Discovery & Documentation:

• Conduct detailed mapping of "as is" business processes across the business, including trading, risk management, compliance, supply chain, and customer interactions.
• Engage with cross-functional teams (commercial, finance, operations, IT) to understand workflows, dependencies, and pain points.
• Create comprehensive documentation for all mapped processes, ensuring clarity and consistency across departments.

Gap Analysis & Improvement Recommendations:

• Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and manual processes that can be improved through automation and process redesign.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to propose "to be" processes aligned with PDS vision goals.
• Recommend changes to improve process standardization, reduce redundancies, and ensure scalability across global operations.

Process Standardization & Best Practices:

• Work closely with business and IT teams to define standardized processes that can be implemented across all regions and desks.
• Ensure that mapped processes are aligned with the strategic objectives of the PDS vision, focusing on automation and seamless integration.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Serve as a liaison between business, technical, and operational teams, ensuring alignment in process mapping efforts.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to review, refine, and finalize process maps.
• Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on process mapping progress and key findings.

Change Management Support:

• Work with the change management team to develop materials for training and adoption of new processes.
• Assist in creating communication plans and process documentation to ensure smooth implementation and transition.

• Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with IT systems related to process automation and ERP systems.
• Change management experience is a plus.
