Job Title: Product Engineering Manager
Duration: 25/11/2024 to 28/03/2025
Daily Rate: 250.00 - 350.00
Shifts: Monday to Friday - 8hr/day (4 days in the office, 1 day from home)
Location: London SW1P (fully site based)
Availability: Immediate start or short notice required
JOB SUMMARY
The Product Engineering Manager will manage and guide the garment technical team through the garment technical and industrialisation process, to ensure all styles are developed well in line with Design, Product Development & Production requirements. Maintain focus on method, construction, cost, machinery, and quality, achieving 100% on-time delivery at each stage.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage garment technical team to deliver all new seasonal developments in line with business-Critical Path requirements.
- Partner with London technical design on new product development strategies and projects i.e. establishing new seasonal construction / quality detail and requirements.
- Evaluate initial design sketches with the team through design risk assessment process. Highlight potential risks and suggested solutions with appropriate cross-functional team.
- Guide the team throughout the Proto, SRS, & PP processes, attending fit meetings in London as and when required.
- Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of the Technical Specification Packs and detailed SOP guidelines for the factory.
- Together with the Pattern Technical Manager - review and sign off the production Kit Samples, giving authorisation to commence bulk production.
- Monitor / reviews teams weekly / monthly performances against agreed business objectives & KPI's.
- Work with individual team members to agree personal development plans, and key department objectives & KPI measures.
PERSONAL PROFILE
- 3 + years' working experience in similar role
- University Degree in Textiles/Fashion with garment industry experience
- Strong knowledge of garment construction and fit.
- Rainwear and outwear experience is advantageous.
- Solid / hands on manufacturing experience & understanding - able to train & demonstrate sewing methods with machinsts.
- Ability to lead a team, with management experience required.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, Adobe & Office Suite.
