Our client, an innovative, global solutions based organisation, now requires an experienced Product Manager, who will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of the Group’s electronic, software and cloud based product ranges.

There will be an element of flexible/ agile working with this role.

The Role:Reporting to the Global Product Director as the Product Manager, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • owning and managing the product backlog
  • understanding and contributing to the product vision and strategy so that each development increment translates into functional and system specifications
  • translating feature level goals into an organised prioritised product backlog
  • creating epics and user stories to support development and release management
  • collaborating with cross functional teams to capture, clarify and build product requirements which meet customer /user needs
  • maintaining a transparent product backlog which reflects an accurate status of work-in-progress
  • managing and co-ordinating release management and software lifecycle activities
  • collaborating with marketing, sales and support teams to ensure preparation surrounding support releases
  • creating and supporting the production of product documentation, training, support, and marketing collateral

The Candidate:Ideally of graduate standard, candidates will preferably have previous experience of working within an engineering, manufacturing or software based environment. Candidates for the Product Manager role will also have achieved, or be working towards their further Product Manager qualifications.

Candidates for the Product Manager role will also be required to demonstrate that they have:

  • previous experience of working in a product management role, ideally connected to software based products
  • in depth knowledge of Agile processes and principles
  • sound technical expertise, including backlog management, and confidence in facilitating dialogue across business and technical stakeholders
  • attention to detail to ensure that all output aligns with both business needs and technical constraints
  • experience in project and change management
  • the ability to be analytical, strategic and results driven with a strong commitment to success
  • a solutions based thinker with a strong customer focus and outstanding organisational skills

In addition, for this Product Manager role, candidates should also have:

  • excellent communication skills and presentation skills
  • the ability to be flexible in a challenging environment
  • the capability to be a hands-on type individual, who demonstrates initiative and a positive, professional attitude
  • the ability to work effectively both within a team but also under their own initiative, demonstrating they are used to multi-tasking and can prioritise their workload in order to meet exacting deadlines and deliver agreed outcomes
  • the capacity to be a strong, capable leader, with the presence to motivate and influence across all levels of the business
