Alexander Steele are working exclusively with an exceptional food business that supplies a range of delicious products to UK and European retailers. Due to business growth and product demand the business is looking to add an Product Quality Specialist to their technical function.

The role requires regular travel (50% time travelling) to Europe and someone who can speak fluent Italian.

The role:
As Product Quality Specialist you will be responsible for driving the quality of the product to guarantee the best experience for the companies customers. 
Key accountabilities:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Agree detailed standards with suppliers - Its important that the taste and look of products remain authentic.
  • Ensure all products produced to agreed standards and specifications.
  • Resolution of quality issues that arise through customer complaints and sampling.
  • Action any urgent quality issues that require immediate attention - This could require supplier visits at short notice.
  • Work collaboratively with NPD and Technical on all new product launches to ensure product quality.

 The candidate:

  • At least 2 years experience working in a technical / quality environment in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Working experience and knowledge of BRC standards.
  • A degree in Food Science or equivalent.
