Would you love to bring your book production experience to an award-winning, independent London-based childrenā€™s publishing company?Ā  We have a fabulous new role for an experienced book production professional to join the production team of this highly successful organisation on a 6-month fixed term contract. The Senior Production Controller will be responsible for producing a range of titles, including picture books, mono fiction and novelty titles across the front and backlist, with a high level of autonomy. This role offers hybrid working with three days in the office and two working from home, but we will also consider a candidate who is looking to work 4 days a week, with 2 days in the office.

Reporting to the Senior Production Manager key responsibilities will include:

Taking responsibility for your own list (pre-press, sales materials, manufacturing) of front list, co-edition and reprint titles Responsibility for ensuring safety requirements for products as required Liaising with editorial and design teams to ensure workflows are followed accurately Support and manage junior members of the team Working with the rights team and co-edition customers to set up and handle co-edition printing Ensuring all data is kept up to date This is a rare opportunity to work for a leading childrenā€™s publisher across a range of fantastic titles and develop your skills and experience within childrenā€™s book production. The ideal candidate will have proven solid and varied experience of working within a book production department. You will have excellent negotiation, pre-press, print and manufacturing experience, including 4-colour experience, and ideally safety testing knowledge/experience. The ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines is essentialĀ Ā  as you will be working across several projects at any given time.
