Location: North London

Our client, a prominent and respected company within the water industry, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to lead and deliver high-value projects across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a market leader, overseeing critical design-and-build projects that contribute to the success and sustainability of the water and wastewater sector.

About the Role
The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful delivery of projects from initiation to completion. This position involves leading cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning: Develop and manage detailed project plans, including objectives, timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Team Leadership: Inspire and lead project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proactively engage with stakeholders to align project objectives and address their needs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks and implement effective mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts on project success.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring financial goals are met.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track project milestones, adjust plans as necessary, and ensure the project stays on schedule.
  • Communication: Provide clear and consistent updates to stakeholders, team members, and senior management.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and project specifications.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, plans, and lessons learned.
  • Post-Project Evaluation: Conduct evaluations to identify improvements for future project delivery.

Experience & Industry Background:
  • A minimum of 5 years working as a lead engineer or project manager in the water or wastewater industry.
  • Significant experience delivering large-scale design-and-build projects, valued between £500k and £5m.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in a design-and-build project delivery role within the water industry.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to driving continuous improvement.
Desirable Skills & Certifications: While not mandatory, the following qualifications would be an advantage:
  • EUSR (Water Hygiene) Certification.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
  • First Aid at Work (3-day certification).
  • NEC3 Contract knowledge and experience.
Additional Information
  • The role will involve travel across various sites in the UK to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Candidates based near the Affinity Water region (Hatfield office) are preferred, though travel flexibility is essential.
