Project Manger, Waterproofing

Spencer & James Recruitment, partnered with a family run multi disciplinary Main Contractor, are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager, ideally with roofing, facade and cladding experience, to manage a team responsible for £10m - £20m of Roofing, Cladding and Waterproofing works.

Overview:

As a Project Manager, within this team, you will oversee the Financial, Operational, Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards of the Waterproofing Division, by driving company objectives, promoting good practices, and ensuring compliance with professionally recognized standards and Quality Management Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Team and Project Management:

  • Lead and manage a team of Site Managers on waterproofing projects.
  • Oversee project performance, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Regularly report project performance to the Managing Director.

Production and Safety:

  • Coordinate tender handovers, prestart, and preconstruction meetings.
  • Ensure all Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are in place.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Address non-conformities and ensure audits are followed up.

Commercial Management:

  • Support P&L management and financial forecasting.
  • Oversee contract reviews, payments, and procurement schedules.
  • Advise on staffing needs and provide contractual support in disputes.

Client and Supply Chain Relationships:

  • Develop and implement communication plans with stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and address complaints promptly.
  • Promote a positive company image and ensure strong supply chain management.

Organizational Duties:

  • Ensure the team is adequately resourced and conduct regular meetings.
  • Mentor and support team members, ensuring ongoing development.
  • Assist in recruitment and pre-construction activities as needed.

Experience Needed:

  • At least 5 years proven experience in managing construction projects, particularly within the waterproofing/ facade or cladding sector (Essential).
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in managing budgets and delivering financial targets.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a client-focused approach.
