Skilled Careers are pleased to confirm we have been appointed to search for a Lead Senior Project Manger to deliver a flagship scheme for a family run main contractor based in Essex.
Due to expansion and recently been awarded a new contract they are looking to strengthen their production team and appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager.

The company:
They are family run business which has been established for over 30 years with a reputation for delivering an excellent product for their client. They specialise in delivering highly complex projects within London across a variety of sectors from residential, healthcare, heritage, schools & commercial with projects ranging from £5M - £28M. They currently have 23 live projects with six projects currently at PCSA stage. They have been growing year on year and has a turnover of £55M with strategic growth plans in place to hit £100M within the next 2/3 years.
I have met the Construction Director and the team; we have been working with this client for many years and we have successfully recruited several staff members which has been with the company for many years.
The Construction Director has a strong tier one background, they are very professional, approachable, and very likeable with an open-door policy to management.
The company has its own car park and professional open planned offices which has recently been refurbished to a high standard.

The Project:
This is the company’s flagship scheme to date with several other similar type projects in the pipeline. The project is highly complicated as it as adjacent next to a railway station, logistically it is very tight and is being built on uneven ground.
The project is currently at PCSA stage which will take 12 months, the project then has gone through the gateway process before going to site early 2026. The project has a construction build cost of £28M and will consist of 60 residential units which has an RC frame build up to seven storey with some commercial space and semi basement/slope.
Please note, for the first 12 months while the project is at PCSA stage you will be working from the offices in Essex, once the project goes to site you will be site based in South West London.
The role and responsibilities:
- Leading all site activities and full responsibility for setting up strategic programme, putting together a detailed budget and design working alongside an experienced construction team.
- Responsible for taking the project from PCSA stage, Gateway, and the full delivery of the project on-site through to completion.
- Reporting directly into Construction Director
- Responsible for site team of one Project Manager, two Senior Site Managers & two Assistant Site Managers
- Ensuring the Health & Safety standards are at the highest standards
- Driving quality
- Holding weekly progress meetings
- Ensuring the scheme is delivered on programme and controlling budget cost
- Excellent man management skills
The Person:
- You will need to have delivered a project from PCSA stage, through the gateway process, planning through to completion of the project on site.
- MCIOB qualification or an equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential.
- You will need to have proven experience delivering similar type residential, logistically tight, and complicated projects for a main contractor within London.
- Must have reported at a senior level and managed teams of Project Managers and Site Managers.
- Must be highly professional, articulate, driven and be forward thinking and a problem solver.
- Must be able to communicate at all levels in a professional and calm manor.

The salary on offer
Six figure basic salary to attract the very best plus excellent benefit package which include £6,000 travel allowance, pension, healthcare and profit share option.
