Responsible for assuring traffic management legislative requirements are met by the Contractors across Main Works Civils, Enabling Works, Utilities, Stations and Rail Systems, both individually and when considered collectively. The Traffic Manager provides the focus for liaison and co-ordination between HS2’s contractors and the local highway authorities on traffic and transport matters and assurance that contractors provide appropriate documentation, plans, drawings, and implementation programme. This role is responsible for managing the Supplier contract on behalf of the Project Client, Senior Project Managers and the HS2 NEC3 Project Manager, and provide specialist advice within the Integrated Project Team (IPT) to fulfil clearly defined HS2 accountabilities of scope delivery, budget, time and quality parameters. The post holder will also undertake a risk-based approach to the assurance of the traffic management and temporary highway schemes for the works whilst maintaining standards of health and safety, and supporting the required project delivery outcomes of quality, environmental impact and Undertakings and Assurance obligations.
Relevant experience required:

Experience in the design of general traffic management (particular safety schemes), temporary traffic management standards (including Traffic Signs Manual Chapter 8). Experience of leading, managing people and working across functions and disciplines to deliver objectives, setting work priorities, working under extremely tight deadlines, building relationships with stakeholders and responding quickly in a constantly changing project environment.
