Our client is a successful British consumer brand who creates design-led products for leading retailers globally. They are a huge UK success story and have experienced substantial growth over the past few years. As a company, they are committed to sustainability and ethical practices, and as a result, they have a loyal global customer base which is rapidly expanding.They are looking for a driven & commercial Merchandiser with solid experience within a consumer goods business. Working closely with their retail customers you will be managing the forecast for key accounts & FMCG retailers, ensuring all stock is delivered in a timely and efficient manner, and keeping full availability on continuity lines.Duties and responsibilities include:
- Work closely with the buyers and merchandisers from the key accounts, building strong relationships
- Manage stock planning and ordering, ensuring buying decisions are led/influenced by sales analysis, ensuring full availability
- Ensure customer forecasts are firm and accurate before orders are placed
- Take ownership of the critical path for your customers, ensuring required delivery dates are met, mitigating risks and escalating any blockers
- Analyse customer sales figures, analysing these, and reporting to both internal and external teams as needed
- Act as a key point of contact for retailers, providing an excellent level of service
- Work closely with the factories, ensuring all agreed critical path dates are achieved
- Conduct SWOT analysis on projects and events, using this analysis to direct team regarding sales trends to help with bidding for new projects, evolving product offers and driving growth for business
- Liaise with warehouse to ensure timely deliveries to key customers are made with agreed packaging, and to agreed deadlines
- Attend weekly Merchandising meetings, presenting sales & stock data
Qualifications and skills required:
- Solid experience within a Merchandising or Demand Planning role
- FMGC / volume accounts experience ideal
- Excellent numerical skills, highly commercial with a background working with consumer goods
- Direct factory experience working with global suppliers
- Experience of managing stock across multiple locations
- Excellent Excel skills
- Strong customer service and communicative skills
- Self-motivated team player, thrives within a busy, fast-paced environment
