MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist building managers in preparation of service charge budgets and input into Yardi system within expected timeframes for Client & internal reporting requirements.
2. Ensuring best practice with RICS/ARMA service charge guidelines.
3. Preparation of Service charge reconciliations to ensure the accounts are issued in a timely manner in accordance with client expectations.
4. Resolve queries raised by Landlords and Tenants
5. Reviewing service charge expenditure and investigating variances.
6. Attend monthly and quarterly budget meetings with building mangers.
7. Liaising with the CWML Managing Directors and Directors on monthly and quarterly accounts.
8. Raise quarterly service charge demands in a timely manner.
9. Reconciliation & recharge of tenant direct recoveries.
10. Monthly reviews of balance sheet accounts.
11. Preparation/ Reconciliation of trial balances.
12. Reconciliation /calculation of landlord liabilities
13. Accounting for PRS (Private Rental Sector) properties, including monitoring performance against KPI's.
14. Liaise with auditors and the financial accounts team as required
15. Assist the wider service charge team

PERSON SPECIFICATION
1. Experience with and a deep understanding of service charge accounting is essential - experience with large complex residential service charge or estate service charge is highly desirable.
2. Part qualified accountant or a desire to undertake an accounting qualification is highly desirable.
3. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
4. Experience with property management systems is essential. Experience with Yardi would be an advantage.
5. Good Excel skills and an ability to work to a high level of accuracy.
6. Ability to use initiative and work under pressure.
7. Be able to establish good working relationships across the organisation, particularly senior management, the Head of Residential and other departments within Finance.
