Job Scope:

Our client is seeking a dedicated Child Psychologist to support the emotional and psychological well-being of children and young people. The Child Psychologist will deliver essential therapeutic support, conduct comprehensive assessments, and provide evidence-based interventions tailored to the individual needs of each child, including those related to trauma and attachment challenges.

In this role, the Child Psychologist will also work closely with staff, offering training and consultation to enhance their ability to address complex emotional and behavioral needs. By fostering a trauma-informed environment, the Child Psychologist will equip the team with strategies to promote positive outcomes for children in their care.

The Child Psychologist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure holistic and integrated support. Upholding compliance with statutory and ethical standards, they will maintain detailed records and contribute to service development. Through their expertise, the Child Psychologist will help create a nurturing and therapeutic environment where children feel valued and supported.

Do you have?

  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • A master’s or doctoral degree in Psychology (Clinical, Educational, or Child Psychology preferred).
  • Extensive experience supporting children, young people, and staff in care or residential environments.
  • Thorough understanding of safeguarding practices, trauma-informed care principles, and attachment theories.
  • Proven experience working within Ofsted-regulated settings.
  • Expertise in therapeutic approaches, such as Dyadic Development Psychotherapy (DDP).
