Summary

Appoint Healthcare is proud to partner with a leading national provider of health and social care services for young people and adults with neurological, mental health needs, and learning disabilities. We are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist - newly qualified or experienced - to join our dedicated therapy team at our Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in Greenwich.

This role can be tailored as a preceptorship for a newly qualified psychologist or as a Band 8A position for candidates with more extensive experience.

Our state-of-the-art facility includes:

  • 19-bed Level 1 Highly Specialist Cognitive-Behavioural Ward
  • 18-bed Level 2 Neurorehabilitation Ward

Both wards are designed to provide advanced care for individuals with cognitive and physical impairments resulting from acquired or traumatic brain injuries.

Role Overview

Ideal candidates will have neuro experience in inpatient or community settings, preferably within large London NHS Trusts. Newly qualified candidates (Band 7) with UK training and placement experience are welcome. For Band 8A applicants, experience in conducting and interpreting neuropsychological assessments is required.

This role provides a unique opportunity to work alongside two Consultant Neuropsychologists. For those pursuing a career in neuropsychology, we offer full funding and support to complete the QiCN (Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology).

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety, dignity, and human rights of residents.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop clinical formulations and tailored treatment plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based individual and group therapy programs in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Regularly evaluate and adjust treatment plans to maximise patient progress.
  • Guide team members in implementing psychological interventions grounded in evidence-based practice.
  • Maintain strict adherence to risk management and security protocols.
  • Stay current with CPD as required by HCPC registration, including administering and interpreting psychological and risk assessments.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with colleagues, families, carers, and visitors.
Requirements
  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist.
  • Enrolled or interested in post-doctoral training in Clinical Neuropsychology.
  • Experience in neurological service settings, pre- or post-qualification.
  • For Band 8A roles, proven ability to conduct and interpret neuropsychological assessments.
  • Strong communication skills for delivering complex or sensitive information.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development, as recommended by the BPS.
  • Successful candidates must complete an Enhanced DBS check.
