Educational Psychologist | Ideal for anyone living within a hours drive of the M25 as most work is in the South East, London and Home Counties area | Full time or part-time (minimum 2 days per month) | Competitive salary £46,755 - £87,100 depending on experience (pro rata for part time)
Our client is a well-established company in the private sector, specialising in providing independent assessments and tribunal reports as expert witnesses. They are looking to expand their team and so there are part time and full-time roles available.
You will be welcomed into a small and supportive team, where innovation and initiative are encouraged. The employer likes to think of their management style as ‘on tap, not on top’, meaning support is there whenever asked for but you shouldn’t feel micromanaged.
Are you the right person for the job?
- Fully qualified Educational Psychologist
- HCPC registered
- Full driving licence and own transport (if outside London)
- Ideally have tribunal experience (not essential, our client can offer training)
- Someone who puts the child’s needs first in your work
- Enhanced DBS check is of course required
- Right to work in the UK
What will your role look like?
As an Educational Psychologist, you will primarily conduct one-off assessments and reports to support EHCP applications or appeals against contested EHCP’s (the vast majority of our EHCP cases are only concerned with report writing, less than 5% involve actual tribunal attendance). This involves in-person visits to schools and the occasional home assessment; the employer offers external and in-house training, including specific training on EHCP tribunals and offer 1-1 coaching through the first few reports.
The organisation’s EP’s primarily work from home, travelling to varied destinations throughout the UK (mostly London, and South England) to conduct their assessments, before heading home to write-up their report.
Caseloads are light, allowing the freedom to focus all attention on providing the best service possible for clients. Furthermore, your recommendations will be based purely on your professional opinion.
Our client respects your psychological views, and the child always comes first.
What can you expect in return?
- Expenses including travel, tests, and materials
- Flexible working available (e.g. can work around child care or similar restrictions)
- The employer always aims to pay approximately 2 Soubry points above your current pay as a starting point
