A well-respected Primary School in Hammersmith & Fulham is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work closely with a challenging pupil with Autism. This role is crucial in helping the student manage their behaviour and succeed academically and socially within the school environment.
As a Behaviour Mentor, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-on-one support to a pupil with Autism, helping them navigate challenges and develop positive behaviour strategies.
- Building a trusting relationship with the pupil, offering consistent encouragement and guidance.
- Working closely with teachers, parents, and the SEN team to implement tailored behaviour management plans.
- Assisting the pupil in developing social skills and coping mechanisms that will support their overall well-being and integration into school life.
- Monitoring and recording the pupil's progress, adapting strategies as needed to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- A strong understanding of Autism and experience working with children who have special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with the pupil and collaborate effectively with staff and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience, with a commitment to making a positive impact on the pupil's educational journey.
